Overview

The L&D Technical Writer designs and writes instructional materials to teach or train internal employees. This position requires a flexible, humble mindset, and strong analytical skills.  

What you will need

  • 2 or more years of experience in Organizational Development, Learning and Development, or a similar field preferred.
  • Experience with advanced learning models.
  • Experience with technical writing for internal employees.

How you will make an Impact

  • Works closely with the Instructional Design Team, Chadwell Supply trainers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the Director of Learning and Development to create concise, informative training materials for Chadwell Supply employees.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to establish clarity of process and procedures.
  • Conducts thorough needs analysis to identify performance gaps and determine training needs.
  • Must follow an organized and clearly articulated process for needs analysis.
  • Contributes creative, resourceful solutions to performance gaps.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and openness to diverse perspectives when collaborating with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.
  • Utilizes Instructional Design models to communicate with team and develop training resources
  • Creates job aids, training guides, and eLearning module storyboards.
  • Designs assessments, quizzes, and knowledge checks.
  • Consistently develop clear, easy-to-follow, engaging course content, written at a 6th to 8th grade reading level (ensuring accessibility for broad audiences).
  • Applies adult learning principles within content creation.
  • Utilizes the Tell-Show-Do model, drawing on relevant examples in content creation.
