Overview

Keep track of the products and quantities required to provide industry-leading Fill Rates on Next-Day delivery to Chadwell Supply customers. The Buyer will analyze the sales of products at each branch and purchase the product from the vendors for the Branches or Distribution Centers. Coordinate with branch managers and sales personnel to determine any special stocking needs for renovation projects or future major purchases by customers. They will also coordinate with Special Orders and Renovations to ensure that any miscellaneous products are included on the regular purchase order to the vendor. Monitor and report on Fill Rates by product ranking, inventory levels and inventory turnover ratios to ensure inventory management effectiveness. They will analyze recent sales data for exceptional demand and normalize it.

How you will make an Impact

  • Make purchase decisions in accordance with company procedures and regulations.
  • Analyze purchase order and review for accuracy and completion.
  • Ensure that stock levels are maintained at appropriate levels to minimize stock outs and excess inventory while maintaining fill rate goals.
  • Ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders, maintain status with back-ordered product and assist OSD with missing products.
  • Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Analyze market trends and apply this to make insightful buying decisions.
  • Communicate any supply problems which may impact the company operations.
  • Work closely with other Purchasing team members and review opportunities for process improvement and business improvement.
  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to the Product Line Manager supplier reviews to ensure contract compliance.
  • Resolve price, quality, delivery, and/or invoice issues.
  • Analyze the fill rate report and identify root cause for conditions negatively affecting fill rates.
  • Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues.
  • Anticipate possible supply shortages and devise strategy to solve the problem with inventory supply.
