Overview

The Product Data Specialist is responsible for data consistency across categories and ensures all business-critical data requirements are identified and acquired. He/she ensures current processes for acquiring and maintaining data for the SKU file are documented and is responsible for managing the risks associated with inaccurate product information.

What you will need

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 1 year of Operations, distribution logistics and receiving experience.
  • General understanding of logistics and connections in support of an efficient distribution model.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and use of data query tools.
  • Ability to be both strategic and detail oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong time management abilities, including planning and prioritizing workloads.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
  • Advanced skill with MS Office products, particularly Excel and Access.

How you will make an Impact

  • Work closely with the Category Managers to ensure complete and accurate product data information is collected from suppliers
  • Identify, resolve, and develop an ownership approach to ensure that accurate data information is collected and disseminated.
  • Resolve data conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams, internal and external stakeholders to resolve data issues.
  • Identify business-critical data elements that are missing and determine the best approach to obtain missing information (i.e., digital images or catalog data).
  • Acquire, enter, and validate product data information in corporate systems and review the current product data issues and recommend plans for correcting the data.
  • Recommend and develop continuous improvements to processes that impact product data information and maintenance.
  • Prepare progress reports, top supplier reports, and Category Manager reports.
  • Provide support with Supplier Cost Analysis (SCAN) and provide feedback based on the dataset.
  • Cultivate relationships across functions to facilitate the achievement of business objectives.
